Brandon Lagerquist has been hired as the district’s Director for Assessment, Research and Evaluation. Lagerquist currently serves in a similar role for the Edmonds School District. Lagerquist was selected after an open, competitive search process for his experience analyzing student data, leading teams, and a proven commitment to district and school improvement.

“I am excited to bring Brandon to our team,” said Superintendent Justin Irish. “Having worked with him in Edmonds, I know he will be able to implement and interpret data systems that will drive student improvement.”

Lagerquist has a B.A. in psychology from Central Washington University, and two Masters Degrees: a Master of Science in Experimental Psychology from CWU, and a Master in Educational Leadership from the University of Washington. He has previously served as Student Learning Data Analyst for the Northshore School District and Research and Assessment Specialist at Olympic College.

The Director of Assessment, Research, and Evaluation will help interpret various sources of student data to help the district assess where students are achieving, and where they are not. The director will also support our principals in assessing school improvement plans to ensure that goals are measurable, consistent, and meaningful.

“Student data and our ability to interpret it can help drive student achievement and success,” said Lagerquist. “I am looking forward to supporting the district’s principals, staff, and teachers in this work.”

Lagerquist begins on August 1, 2021.
