Understanding financial aid, and your own financial situation, is one of the first steps to making a plan. Learn how to find colleges that will increase your odds of getting aid. Did you know that the (federal income) tax return you file during your students' sophomore year will be used to calculate how much the government says you are obliged to pay toward their college costs?
