HIV/AIDS Education Parent Information Night
The State of Washington requires school districts to offer students yearly instruction in the life-threatening dangers of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, its spread, and its prevention, beginning in Grade 5. The state provides KNOW HIV/STD Prevention Curriculum which is designed to meet the requirements of the AIDS Omnibus Act (RCW 28A.230.070) and requirements for instruction about sexually transmitted diseases (RCW 28A.230.020). The materials for these units have been selected in a manner consistent with requirements by Washington State law and Washington’s Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
