Regular school attendance is crucial for your child's success.  Teachers develop lessons that focus on much of the learning taking place during class.  Everyday your child is absent makes it difficult for him/her to learn the content they need to be successful.

There are several ways to notify us if your child will be absent.

  • Click on Absence Request 

If your child is absent from school, please call 360-503-1367 to report the reason for the absence, if possible the day of the absence.  Parent/Guardian must call/email within 48 hours of the absence. If no call/email is made within 48 hours, the absence will remain unexcused.  Any unreported absence or an absence that does not meet the criteria for an excused absence will automatically be an unexcused absence.  A school principal or designee has the authority to determine if an absence meets the criteria for an excused absence.  Please read Anacortes School District Excused and Unexcused Absences Procedure here.

If a secondary student has ten or more excused absences within the current school year, administrators may request a meeting and additional documentation for the absences.
