Chromebooks are provided to all students to take home each day to extend and enhance their learning. Each year, we ask students and their parents to complete the Responsible Use Agreement. This document outlines the responsibilities of parents, their children, and ASD in promoting online safety and responsible use of ASD's technology resources.

The GoGuardian Parent app is designed to help parents and guardians monitor and manage their child's online activities and internet usage on school-issued devices. By using this app, parents can gain insights into their child's browsing history, see which websites they visit, and understand how much time they spend on different online activities. Additionally, the app provides features for setting internet usage limits and receiving alerts about potentially harmful or inappropriate content. This helps ensure that children are using their devices safely and responsibly, even when they are outside of school hours.

Transportation Important Information

 

There have been changes to our bus routes for the 2024-2025 school year. Stop times and locations due to the new bell times. If your student rode a bus last school year, please check their route information on the My Ride K-12 app. If you have not yet downloaded the app the instructions are below. This has replaced the Ride 360 app.

 

If the information is correct there is no further action you need to take. If your student has no route information available, you have moved during the summer break, or you are new to the district, please register your student for bus transportation in Skyward family access under other forms

 

Regular transportation is provided for students residing outside the one-mile walking area of their home school attendance area. Please fill out the Transportation Request Form to request student transportation or to request a change to your current arrangement throughout the year. If you submit a form over the summer, please check the My Ride K-12 app for updates.

Transportation Request

 

If your student(s) will need district transportation, please log in to Skyward Family Access under "Other Forms" to submit a Transportation Request Form for each student. Each student rider must have a Transportation Request Form completed. 

 

Instructions:

• Navigate to the Skyward Family Access login screen
• Enter your login credentials. Your login ID is typically firstname.lastname. If you do not know your credentials, please select “Forgot your Login/Password?” An account/password reset link will be sent to your email address on file with the district.
• Once in, you will be at the Family Access home screen where you can access all students in your family by selecting the dropdown arrow at the top left.
• If you need to locate you family number, simply click on the "Other ID" tab.
• To access the form, please navigate to the “Online Forms” on the left side of the screen
• Select Step 1) Transportation Request
• Fill out the form and click “Complete Step 1”
• Complete Step 2) by clicking “Submit Transportation Request”

 

My Ride K-12 Bus Route App

 

The Anacortes School District uses the My Ride K-12 app to streamline transportation communication for parents, students, and staff. Explore the app’s features, including real-time bus tracking, notifications, and route information.

• Log in using your existing credentials if you hade Ride 360 account or create a new account.

 

 Free and Reduced Priced Meals

We are pleased to announce that beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, all students in Fidalgo Elementary and Mount Erie Elementary will receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day. Currently, the district provides school meals at no cost to students enrolled at Cap Sante High School under the Community Eligibility Provision. House Bill 1238 is a new bill, allowing Fidalgo Elementary and Mt. Erie Elementary to serve no-cost meals to students beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.

ALL STUDENTS in the following schools will receive meals at no cost in the school year 2024-2025: 

• Mount Erie Elementary School 
• Fidalgo Elementary School 
• Cap Sante High School- Qualified as a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) School

Why will these schools provide free meals?
House Bill 1238 (HB 1238) mandates that Local Education Agencies (LEAs) provide meals at no cost to students enrolled at elementary schools where 30% or more of children are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. This requirement begins in the 2024–25 school year and is based on the preceding year’s October Building Data. In prior years, the threshold for free or reduced-price meals was 40% or more.

Why aren't free meals available at my school?

Because the free meal program under HB 1238 applies to elementary schools where at least 30% of students are eligible for free or reduced-price meals, only those schools meeting or exceeding this percentage are included. 

FORMS 

To maintain free meals for these schools and possibly provide free meals at our other schools, families must fill out the free and reduced meals application every school year. If eligible, this can also waive and reduce fees, including event and athletic fees, ASB fees, and extracurricular fees, dues, and field trips. Prescription or non-prescription (aspirins, vitamins, cough drops, etc.) may not be administered at school without a Doctor’s order. Medication must be turned into the office and will be dispensed from the original bottle or container, which is kept in a locked cabinet.  This includes Epi Pens. Per state law, both the parent and physician must complete and sign the Physician’s Consent Form for Dispensing Medication.
