The Finance and Operations Department manages all facets of the school district's financial operations. This includes enrollment projections and reporting, budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, audits, payroll, benefits, retirement, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, inventory, and asset management. Our primary goal is to maximize resources that support student achievement.

The department also oversees facilities and operations, food and nutrition services, and transportation.
Operating Funds
Here’s a general overview of the District's five operating funds:

General Fund: Covers the annual operational expenses, including salaries and benefits for certificated and classified employees, as well as district and building supplies, materials, utilities, instructional materials, insurance, fuel, travel, and equipment.

Capital Projects Fund: Finances the construction and remodeling of schools, technology upgrades (bond or levy-funded), land purchases, and small health and safety projects.

Debt Service Fund: Manages revenue and expenses related to property tax collections for bond repayment and interest expenses.

ASB (Associated Student Body) Fund: Supports student-led government, co-curricular activities, athletics, recreation, and club activities.

Transportation Vehicle Fund: Funds the purchase of new school buses.

NOTICE OF MEETING TO ADOPT 2024-25 BUDGET AND CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Directors of the Anacortes School District (ASD) No. 103, Skagit County, Washington, has finalized the estimates for the 2024-2025 Draft Budget. A copy of the 2024-2025 Draft Budget is available for review at the Administration Office located at 2200 M Avenue, Anacortes, Washington, upon request and are also available on the ASD Finance website at https://www.asd103.org/District/Department/26-Finance.
Prior to adopting the 2024-2025 budget, the Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 6:15 PM in the Anacortes High School Library, located at 1600 20th Street, Anacortes, Washington. The purpose of this public hearing is to receive comments and inputs from the community regarding the 2024-2025 draft budget.
The ASD will subsequently hold a regular meeting on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 6:15 PM, in the Anacortes High School Library at 1600 20th Street, Anacortes, Washington. The primary agenda of this meeting is to finalize and adopt the 2024-2025 fiscal year budget.
Members of the public attending the hearing are entitled to provide both written and oral comments and pose relevant questions.
