In response to this week’s threats received at Anacortes High School, the Anacortes Police Department has been working with their federal partners and have determined that this week’s threats are affecting multiple communities across the United States. The community of Anacortes does not appear to be a specific target. APD is continuing to work with their partners to identify those responsible.
We understand that these are scary situations, and we will do everything we can to ensure student and staff safety. We are grateful for our strong relationships with law enforcement, as well as our building leadership team for their quick work in securing the building.
We are continuing to work on improving the district’s communication system, and will keep families and staff informed when the system is fully operational.
