High School & Beyond Plan

High School and Beyond Plan

All students must complete their High School and Beyond Plan requirements in order to graduate from high school.  Typically, these requirements are introduced and completed during the AHS Advisory (link) courses, which all students take all four years.

The High School and Beyond Plan Requirement is made up of several components, including 20 hours of Community Service (link form), Resume, Career & College inventories and preparation, Senior Experience, and more.

Graduation Pathway

All students must complete a Graduation Pathway.  Many students meet their Graduation Pathway by earning the SBA cut score (currently ELA 2548 / Math 2595), taken in 10th grade.  Alternatively, students may choose to earn a 2.0 credits in an approved Career & Technical Education sequence of courses, as described in the Course Catalog.  Students may also earn their Pathway by earning a score of 31 or higher on the ASVAB exam.  There are other ways as well, including earning cut scores on the SAT or ACT, and/or taking dual-credit courses and/or AP exams.  Please visit OSPI’s page on Graduation Pathways for more information.  Counselors and Administrators carefully track these details with students and families.
